One easy way to keep them fresh is to use our organic cotton mattress pads.  The commercial mattress pads are stuffed with polyester fiber, which is made from petro-chemical by-products and is practically non-absorbent (polyester fiber retains less than 0.4% moisture compared to 7.5% in cotton). Wool is better alternative than polyester but wool is not recommended for regular washing.  Dry cleaning is not our choice.
